Scottish Book Trust - Drama workshop

We were fortunate enough today to have a visit from Kirsten who works with the Scottish Book Trust. We were involved in a workshop focussing on developing skills for shared reading.

We looked at some of the books nominated for the Scottish Book Awards. 

We did some warm ups in the hall, using expressions and gestures. We also warmed up our listening skills as we had to listen very carefully! 

We all got into character and used different voices! 

We added expressions and noises to convey feelings and emotions when reading aloud.

We will use our skills from today when undertaking paired reading with P1/2. We are looking forward to reviewing and voting for the nominated books. :)
