Social Enterprise

Today we had a workshop with Lorna from the Social Enterprise Academy, Scotland. We learnt about social enterprise and some of the key features of enterprise. We brainstormed in our groups what organisation we would like to support. Following some interesting discussions, we shared some of our initial ideas aboout how we could create a business. We all worked well in our groups together and made a good start.

Corrigall Farm Museum

We had a very enjoyable morning at Corrigall Farm Museum. Neil Leask explained to us what life on an Orkney croft was like 150 years ago. We learnt about their daily routines and jobs they undertook on the farm. We learnt about washing clothes, making simmons and grinding barley. We all had a shot at the different jobs.
Mrs Linklater joined us as 'Rev. Jock Nicolson.' We acted out an Orcadian wedding and enjoyed a barn dance!
