P3/4 sharing their learning

We visited p3/4 to see what they have recently been learning. We asked them some questions about their Skara Brae topic.
We enjoyed looking at their mini skara brae houses!

The p3/4 class made a fantastic skara brae house in their class - we were impressed with how they all worked together to make it.
We have invited some of the classes to see what we have been learning about in World War 2 next week. :)

RME - Jews and discrimination

We have been revising our knowledge of the Jewish religion. We discussed how Jewish people in WWII were discriminated against. We also discussed in our groups how Jews felt during WWII.

Mental maths

This term we have been using a variety of mental addition strategies. We applied some of these strategies in our mental maths games this week as well as revising some concepts from last term.
Arithmanix is a new game we have recently learnt. We aim to reach the target number using a variety of operations.

Brain box also puts our memory skills to the test!

Nubble is a favourite! Using only 4 numbers we need to try and make the biggest number.

We enjoyed playing a pairs game.

Evacuee letter writing

We have been creating evacuee letters this week. Most of us are now at the drafting stage and are ready to do our final copy. We made old fashioned paper today, there was a lovely smell of tea and coffee in the classroom afterwards!

Basketball skills

Over the past few weeks with Mrs Drever and Miss Scott, we have been developing our basketball skills. We have been focussing on the skills of dribbling, passing and shooting. We played some team games today and showed fantastic team work!

Venn Diagrams

We have been learning about different ways to handle and sort data. Today we were learning about Venn diagrams. We all shared our knowledge and understanding of Morrison and Anderson shelters from WWII. We all used a Venn diagram to explain the differences and similarities.

Working with p1/2

Today we worked with p1/2. Some of us used the laptops and showed the p1/2 class how to log in and use study ladder. The primary 6 class went to the library to choose books with p1/2 where we drew the characters from the books and described them. We were all responsible and worked well in our small groups.
