Hydration workshop

The other week we had a hydration workshop with the school nurses. We spoke about how we can become dehydrated. We also discussed how much water we should be drinking each day. We are all making an effort to drink more in school. :) 

Leadership

We have been putting our leadership skills to good practice. Each week a group plan activities to do with the p1/2 class in the gym. We think about our organisation and communication skills. We have reflected on each session and discussed what went well and what could be improved. 

Story writing

This term we have been learning about character, setting and plot. We have planned our stories and we have shared these in the class. Last week we peer assessed our writing. We put a dot in the margin of there was a spelling, grammar or punctuation mistake. We then wrote 2 stars and wish, explaining what we still needed to add to our writing to meet in the success criteria. 

Our product

We are now finalising our product in preparation for our launch next week. The two designs which were voted for have been printed on our cotton bags. We plan to sell our bags in local businesses and order forms will be available from the school office. All proceeds go towards Orkney Heart Screening.

Voting for our designs

Last week, we asked each class to vote for our different designs. Each person in the school had 2 votes and they were able to vote for a cool design and warm design. The 2 designs with the most votes will be printed on the bags which will be sold in our enterprise project. 

Peer assessment

Today we peer assessed writing from the p6/7 class in Evie. We read their film/ TV show reviews and gave each piece of writing feedback using the success critters. Again, found this a valuable thing to do and reflected about the experience where we plan to send some of our writing pieces to them. 

Enterprise progress

We have been finalising some plans for our bag project. Through the past week we have been working in groups to finish the logo and finalise the name. The finance group have created spreadsheets with the costs so far as well as creating order forms. The market research group have created a letter to send to local businesses and the advertising group is well under way with their flyers and posters. Good effort everyone!
