Today we carried out a practical investigation. We were developing our knowledge and understanding of micro-organisms and how they are living things. In small groups, we set up an experiment using yeast, sugar and water. We carefully gathered all the resources we required and then measured out all the ingredients for the experiment. We wrote up our method for our experiment and made predictions... we are looking forward to seeing the change over night. We will have lots to discuss and write up about our experiment!

Bag the bruck
Today we all headed down to the Ouse for 'Bag the Bruck'. We set off in drizzly conditions and gathered several bags of rubbish from the shore. Well done everyone from p3-7 in doing your bit in keeping our environment clean and tidy. Here are some pictures from today...

Cottascarth Bird Hide
This week, we attended the opening of the Cottascarth Bird Hide. The pupils in p5/6/7 created drawings of hen harriers with Miss Harcus last term. We all enjoyed seeing our drawings in the hide and doing a spot of bird watching too. We will all be back a visit to the hide soon!
On route to the hide...
We were all very proud of our artwork on display. :)
Some of us spotted hen harriers today!
The fantastic mural in the hide... we were set the challenge to find certain things.
We even cut the ribbon... there were lot's of invited along to watch.
Having a chat with Robbie at BBC Radio Orkney... listen out this week! :)
